The term 'Biomass ' as it applies to the area of agriculture can be defined as ' The generic term for any living matter that can be converted into usable energy through biological or chemical processes. It encompasses feedstocks such as agricultural crops and their residues, animal wastes, wood, wood residues and grasses, and municipal wastes'.
